Kim Kardashian's wedding pics

So, as most of you know, Kim Kardashian got married to Kris Humphries last month. Guess she wanted to Keep up with the (other) Kardashians *wink wink*.

20 August 2011 was the magical day for Kim and Kris (who is a basketball player / 5 years Kim's junior / yet another K in the Kardashian Klan), and, two days ago, the official pictures got released on www.tmz.com

Besides Kim's sisters Kourtney & Khloé Kardashian, many other celebs made an appearance.

Have a look!

All together now: cuuuuuute!

By the way, did you know that youngest sibling Kylie Jenner was the model for Avril Lavigne's fashion label Abbey Dawn in the New York fashion show, a few weeks after the wedding? Guess that idea must have originated during Kim's 'I do'.

Saucy!

Can't wait for the next celebrity wedding already!

TESS

When I started this blog, I kind of decided that I would write much more about news and trends within the fashion world, rather than post personal outfits. I would only write about people you know, not just about the ones that I know.

However, when you see a girl like Tess, that can get kind of difficult.
Why? Tess is that girl that looks like a rockstar and has the body of a model.
So, when I saw her in yet another jaw-dropping outfit, I decided to bring out the camera and shoot those pretties.

Come and have a look!

Want! Want! Want!!!!

Checking out fashion websites on a daily basis for the blog, I've seen some things that are coming our way this fall, and let me tell you: things are looking gooooood.

So, for this post, here's an overview of some quintessential F/W 2011 MUST-HAVES! Yay!!

1. CARINE ROITFELD: IRREVERENT

First and foremost, a fine piece of fashion literature.

After her resignation from French Vogue in December 2010, Carine Roitfeld hasn't exactly been hanging in a hammock in Hawaï, sipping Pina Coladas and enjoying her well-earned retirement. Au contraire!
Since then, she's already collaborated with American department store Barney's (editing, styling and modeling - the woman can do it ALL), teamed up with renowned fashion photographer Terry Richardson, and made guest appearances at every major fashion event that mattered.
And now, the lady is bringing us her first ever book. "Featuring a selection of 250 magazine tear sheets and covers from pivotal editorial shoots and advertising campaigns, as well as intimate visual ephemera, this book gives an inside view into Roitfeld's creative thought process and sensibility. A must-have for those interested in cutting-edge fashion and femininity, this book will empower women to follow Roitfeld's lead and take risks with their personal style."
Sadly, we still have to wait 'till October 18th for the book to finally hit the stores, but for the real fashionista's among us: you can already pre-order it on www.amazon.com.

2. ISABEL MARANT

Just check out the IM F/W 2011 show, and you'll get a pretty good idea.

Leather sleeveless jackets, jeans shirts (yes, they're still doing it), glitter dresses, frilly boots, ... The collection has got it ALL.

3. SILVER NAIL POLISH

You've seen it in the fall/winter 2011 fashion shows, you've seen it on Beyoncé in her new video 1+1, hell, you've even seen it on Tori Spelling's son Liam (don't believe me? check out this picture!). There's no denying that silver nails are HOT this season.

Now, the only thing you have to do is try to pick your fav between all the brands that are bringing out their silvers.

My preference personally goes out to OPI's Your Royal Shineness, as it brushes on very easily, dries really quickly and isn't too glittery (as opposed to many of the other brands, in my opinion) - it's kind of like aluminum paper coated on your nails. Neat!

The only downside is that you can't buy it separately, and are sort of obliged to buy it together with OPI's Servin' Up Silver, which is basically a clear glitter coating. Not really my cuppa'.
But, other than that: rrrrauwtch!

The Serena Williams Glam Slam package which contains Your Royal  Shineness and Servin' Up Sparkle

So, you know what? Bring It On, winter!

Enjoy!

ROOFTOP YARD SALE!!!!

So, in my previous post, I mentioned something about a yard sale I'm putting together for the end of September. Well, here's more news on that!

Here's the thing:

Lately, I've been noticing that my closet is getting full, fuller, fullest. I can hardly fit my coat hangers in there (just check out the picture underneath) and have no overview at all about the hotties and the notties that I have, waiting to be worn.

The result? I always tend to go for the same pieces of clothing, pieces of which I know exactly where they hang and with what I can combine them. Not cool. I've got many more clothes hanging in there, they just never get to see the light of day.

So, to avert an actual EXPLOSION of my closet (it's a pretty closet, it would be a shame), I'm organising a yard sale on my rooftop terrace on Sunday the 25th of September (!!!).

And the REALLY good news? I'm not doing it alone! I'm already teaming up with a couple of girlfriends who are selecting as we speak which shoes, bags, accessories, dresses, ... they want to give a new life, AND I'm still looking for more contestants.
So, if you feel like you also have some pieces of clothing that you would like to sell, don't hesitate to comment or send me an e-mail to get a lowdown on the details.

And, of course, you're all more than welcome to stop by and have a drink, eat a piece of cake and browse through all the racks of clothes, shoes and accessories that we've selected especially for YOU, ranging from hot designer shoes to flowery summer dresses, vintage bags, indie bangles and more.

Just contact me for the exact time and place! Or, check me on facebook ;).

See you there!!

Images.

Well hello!

Let me start this post by telling you a sad story...

As I mentioned in one of my first posts, my boyfriend's handluggage got stolen on our way back home from Lisbon a couple of weeks ago. We left Portugal on a plane from Lisbon to Amsterdam, since this was a bit cheaper for us than a flight directly to Brussels. We then arrived safely in Amsterdam (which is a LOT, since flying scares the bejeebies out of me), and all we had to do was take a train from Amsterdam to Antwerp, where previously mentioned boyfriend's brother was coming to pick us up. Well, it was on that train that our handluggage landed in the hands of the wrong person. He actually stole it from under our noses: we never left our seats and our luggage was stowed away in the overhead compartment. While we were sitting there, all tired from the long journey, the guy put his sneaky hands on our bag and replaced it with a different, practically empty (if you don't count a stuffed animal and an empty box of cookies) backpack so we wouldn't immediately be alarmed. So, when we did finally notice, our stuff was long gone.

This SERIOUSLY pisses me off for many reasons:
- For one, it wasn't just a backpack with some books and a pillow in it. No, there was his laptop (a LAPTOP!), wallet, ipod, jacket, sunglasses AND our beloved camera. Well, not even just the camera. The camera with all our pictures on it. And let me tell you, the man is one fine photographer so there were some real beauties on that thing.
- The theft also took away a part of our trust in mankind. Okay, this may sound a bit dramatic, but it's just hard to grasp that someone willingly stole our personal belongings, and even more that someone actually steps on to a train, just to steal (why else would one carry an empty backpack?). It just saddens me.
- Due to the loss of all our stuff, we've already invested quite a lot of money in new things to replace them. This basically leaves me less money to shop, which is a real torture at the start of the new A/W collection.
- And MOSTLY, I'm pissed off because I am now left without camera. I've started up this blog not only to share my writings, but also to share all the beauty I see around me. I can't even count the number of times anymore that I've said or thought: "Wow, this is cool. I'll take a quick picture of this! Oh wait...". Anyways, we ordered a new camera (the exact same camera as the one we had before, only 100 euros cheaper now... yay!) a couple of days ago and I can't WAIT for it to arrive in the store!

Here's a picture:

So, enough with the negative emotions in this post. I went out today and actually sort of decided to use the mental camera in my head (duh, where else would you find a mental camera? anywho...). Whenever I saw someone or something that I really thought worth snapping, I just made a mental picture of it and did my very best to remember all the details so I could write about them later on. Here is a mental picture of the two people that have amazed me the most:

- Last week, it was raining really bad here in Belgium (and I don't mean a light drizzle, I'm talking actual POURING). Clouds were covering the sky up to the point that it got very dark out, even though it was only four o'clock in the afternoon. Know the kind? The wind was blowing, and I was on my bike, on my way to a friend to leave for a mini-festival together. I am giving all I've got to get through this heavy rain-filled wind, when suddenly I see the most beautiful, unexpected phenomenon: a young woman covering from the rain under a big white umbrella, wearing a peachy pink A-lined dress, vintage high heels and big black sunglasses. She was on the phone, laughing, and I'm pretty sure she made the whole world forget about the miserable weather we were having for just a second. "Now that's dedication", I thought, and continued the rest of my journey with a slight smile on my face.

- For the rest of the week the weather was - to say the least - very unfortunate, so I didn't really take the time to be outside for longer than absolutely necessary, but today, the sun came out again so my internal people-spotter was finally reactivated. And I saw someone I really wish I could have snapped with my camera. Luckily, I had my mental camera with me, so here we go: I was sitting on the tram, listening to my ipod, when I suddenly saw this, well, old lady (I'd guess she was about 85 years old) getting on. She had this incredibly wrinkly face and old hands, and she was really short like most sweet old ladies are. But... there was just something off about her. There was something about her that wasn't old-lady-like at all.  And when she came to sit in front of me, it hit me: this woman actually had fake, shiny, young hair sown into her head, and from the back I really would've believed that it was a young girl who was sitting in front of me. She had sort of an Agyness Deyn (anno 2009) haircut, with many different shades of highlights in it, which was styled to perfection. And those clothes... Well, the least I can say was that they were very Vogue-friendly. With her light greyish blazer, a t-shirt with the big, black Chanel logo on it, and jeans so skinny that not even Kate Moss herself would fit in to them (well, okay, I'm not gonna lie: MAYBE Kate Moss), she would have easily made any eighteen-year-old jealous of her youthful looks. She also had an arm full of colourful bangles (guess she must have read this article before she left the house today) and bright coral nails to finish off the look. Just hip, you know.  But let me tell you: this woman may have looked all young and trendy from the back,  I physically got a little bit scared every time she turned around to look behind her. It was just... wrong. With all due respect,  but I really think she would've made a much prettier granny without the overaged teenager-look she was sporting now.

So you see, it always comes in handy to carry a camera with you if you love to spot a few trends and capture the beauty and weirdness you are confronted with on a daily basis. And if you don't, I will :) Be it mental OR tangible.

And finally, to finish this post, I would like to say goodbye with one more VERY important message:

Happy 53rd Birthday, Madonna!!!
(picture from huffingtonpost.com, thanks to Ben Van Alboom)
- Now, let's turn that frown upside down, shall we?

Big big love, enjoy your Tuesday!

Thursday.

Well hi there!

As it happens to be a rather quiet Thursday night that I've been spending in my most comfortbable leggings polishing my nails and watching The Nanny, I felt it might be time to spend this moment writing my second blog. And why not use this opportunity to share a little more about myself?

In the next few lines, I would like to write a little more about me: my personal style, my inspirations, my passions.

- First off, I hardly ever wear any jewelry (with one big exception about which you'll read later on). To compensate on the lack of jewelry on my body, I see nailpolish as my way of accessorizing. I have a nice collection of shades, from minty green to cleopatra-gold, but it's become pretty obvious that red is still my most trustworthy companion, returning in my collection in every possible brightness.

 - The one exception I make on my otherwise naked-of-jewelry-body? Hermès bracelets. I LOVE them! I'm very lucky to be able to say that I've actually got some in my collection (mostly thanks to my mum - who has an immacculate taste in jewelry, might I add), and I see each and every one of them as my babies. I hardly ever leave the house without one around my wrist, and when I do, I feel as though I've just walked out of the door without my pants on. And that's just not the snuggliest of feelings.

- Brigitte Bardot. Her careless beauty is just breathtaking. Point.

- Festivals. Festivals are basically the only place where Wellington boots are considered stylish. I love how at festivals, everyone feeds off the same music drug and it's like everyone is all on the same music high. Somehow, because you are at the same festival, you feel some sort of sympathy for all the other people surrounding you, and you have the best beer-inspired conversations with perfect strangers. And mostly, I love how you can live on a minimum of hygiene for three days and still look sexy as hell by pairing Wellington boots with jeans shorts and cropped blazers.

- Citytrippin'. I love exploring new cities, and revisiting the ones I've fallen madly in love with in the past. For the moment, I am obsessed with Lisbon. I've been there over the summer, and let me tell you, it is un-be-lievable. I would love to show you some pictures I took there, but very unfortunately some *** stole our handluggage on our way home. Let me just tell you this: Paris may be the most romantic city in the world, New York the hippest, Berlin the best place to party (sorry, Ibiza!) and Milan the most shopaholic, Lisbon is just the best city in the world. Nuff said.

- When I have the time (which hasn't been that often, lately, between blogging and trying to write interesting articles for my college application) I like nothing more than spending my lazy afternoon watching tv shows. Not all shows, mind you. I have my personal favs. The only thing that makes me chipper about autumn (I mean, come on: Goodbye, summer, with your delicious cocktails and great beach parties, and hello rain, scarves that still smell like closet and dark houses due to lack of sunlight) is the fact that the new seasons of my favourite shows start airing. Desperate Housewives, here I am! Gossip Girl, hold up! One Tree Hill, yes, even you manage to still move me after all those years.
Guilty pleasure? Will and Grace. Oh Jack McFarland, how you continue to crack me up.

There are so many more things that make my heart go BOOM (because some songs make you think...WTF? ), but I think this list will do for now. Time for bed!

Talk to you soon!
